Shannan M. Gilbert, 24 is missing. On the eve of May 01, 2010, she ran hysterically up to a resident’s home near the Oak Beach area in Long Island, NY and pounded on their door asking for help. The homeowner called 911 but Shannan took off running. Shortly after, the last known person that spoke with her was a 9-1-1 operator to whom Shannan was pleading that someone was chasing her and going to harm her. According to reports she named the person to the operator but law enforcement has not released that information. A lie detector test was given and the results inconclusive. She has never been seen since.

Shannon’s family is terribly worried and fear that harm may have come to Shannan. Due to the searches for Shannan by the police, they discovered 4 bodies all young women murdered by the “Long Island Serial Killer” on Gilgo Beach in Long Island, NY. The same area where Shannan was last heard from. Shortly thereafter, 6 more bodies was located only a few miles down the same pathway.

Gilbert went missing in May 2010, after something went wrong at a home she was visiting in a beach community on Long Island.

Shannan Maria Gilbert was born October 24, 1986. She has three sisters, a mother and an aunt. She last lived on Columbus Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Shannan graduated high school at age 16, and held dreams of being a singer and a songwriter.

She loved to cook, write poetry, and friends say, she was always there for them.

The search for Shannan Gilbert started it all, leading police to the remains of several missing women, but so far she not been listed among the victims.
